Our proposal for the 300-unit Terrazas de Sol affordable and supportive housing development reinvigorates the existing industrial landscape by creating a model of living that holistically provides a place for people and communities to thrive by establishing a new linear public open space that stitches together disconnected residential communities. The architecture supports this urban gesture by creating a series of semi-public and private open spaces to animate the public realm while creating an environment that connects people together. The combination of these three open spaces – parks, terraces, and courtyards – create a rich integration of landscape and open space to stitch the urban fabric the residential development together to great an array of spatial conditions of varying scales, level of activity and degrees of public and private
